Life
BsChe, Chemical Engineer, Cal Poly 1971; MBA Studies, Finance/Econ, Claremont Grad School 1978-81.
Relocated to Bellingham Washington from Dana Point in 2003. Although I miss being able to walk across PCH to Strands Beach and the sound of the surf at night in Dana Point, I dont miss the crowds, the noise and traffic of Orange County .
I was blessed with a career that I loved, I was a Chemical Process Engineer with two major Engineering and Construction firms, Fluor and Jacobs for 47 years. This job has provided opportunities to live and work long term in various countries in the middle east, western europe and in south east Asia.
About a third of my career has been spent out of the U.S. in locations in a foreign country since graduating from college.
Last project was serving as a refining consultant to the $6bbn Northwest Redwater Partnership in Alberta, Canada.

lly retired and never looked back. I don't miss the work, supervisory stress, schedule and budget rat race that comes with designing and building large refineries.
Bellingham is on the edge of the Cascade Range and lots of opportunity for hiking and outdoors activities. My wife Mary, and I try to get out into the mountains to hike or ski as much as possible.
I have been a home brewer for 20 years and have a nice selection of IPAs, Blondes and Pale Ales in my repertoire.
Last trip was to Normandy and the Loire Valley in May 2017. Recent trips in previous years have covered most of northern europe. Next trip will most likely be back to Hawaii.
Second marriage was in 2001 to Mary, an artist, entrepreneur and my partner in crime.
